text from the flyer:
UNDEADLINE —
an intimate show & tell / celebration of unfinished artworks, all mediums and genres
It’s NOT a support group to help you finish your project, or a workshop to make your thing better.
It IS a chance to be seen and lauded for the partially-done, gestured-towards, almost-done, never-gonna-finish, or maybe someday will finish but that’s too much pressure to think about.
It’s a way to be witnessed for the quiet continuous projects that don’t have an end, that don’t have a release date.
It’s a place to be recognized for the ideas you’ve been carrying around in your pocket for years that have yet to materialize in any form and later will or won’t.
It’s a Party for failure, for the uncommodifiable, for ADHD Artistry, for giving up, for not giving up, for hanging on, for letting go, for the Life that gets in the way of clear conclusions.

format ~ my vision so far ~
starting off with lightly facilitated exploration of our relationship to the unfinished.
offering political/spiritual musings about honoring the undone.
moving into show+tell…dividing the time based on how many people want to share…and giving each person the opportunity to ask for the kind of participation they would like. for example, “i only want to be seen and heard, i don’t want reactions.” or, “i would like to take a few minutes for people to respond to what i shared, and to ask me questions about my experience.” your time is yours to use in whatever ways feel most supportive.
closing with lightly facilitated reflections on the night as a whole.
maybe a havdalah ritual <3
i will be in touch more about all of the above <3
